Jebel Jais Mountain, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE

It was in winter time when we have decided going to a road trip at Al Jais Mountain located in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, with an elevation of 1,934m above sea level. This peak is considered the highest point of the United Arab Emirates. It is our first time to visit the place, we left from Abu Dhabi at 10:00am, it took us 2 hours of traveling until we reach Hilton Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah at 12:00 noon, as we are also invited to attend the birthday lunch of my friend.

A tricky road going to the peak of the mountain…

we left the city of Ras Al Khaimah at 16:00hrs and start our trip going up to the exciting adventure,  the road is a little bit tricky a “zigzag” type, but road signs were well posted ahead by then we are aware to slow down. On our way, there are securities implementing the rules, garbage bag are provided by them to put all our trash, loitering is strictly prohibited in every corner of the mountain, thumbs up for implementing the rules strictly and yes it’s free no “entrance fee”, you can enjoy the tour without time limits.

A foogy morning…

It’s pleasing to my eyes those amazing view’s that surround us , a rocky, naked mountain,  time is running so fast until we’ve decided to stay overnight so we could fully enjoy the cold breeze and the rays of the sunset and sunrise,  camping and overnight are prohibited, police patrols are roaming around 24 hours, everybody is guarded well.

Temperature goes down at 5°degrees Celsius at dawn time, we wake up at 5:00am and patiently waiting for the sunrise.

Tips:

  • Loitering is strictly prohibited in every corner of the mountain, the penalty imposed.
  • Bring your camp tent if you’re planning to stay overnight.
  • Barbecue is allowed to do so.
  • Bring some money for emergency purposes.
  • Make your car fuel full tank, no fuel station available while going to the top.

Enjoy exploring Mt. Al Jais!
